Uttar Pradesh Police Recruitment and Promotion Board, Lucknow has released 41,520 vacancies for the post of Reserved Citizen Police and Reserved Territorial Armed Constabulary. Candidates can apply form 22nd January 2018.

    The 70th Army Day is being celebrated today (15th January 2018). The day is celebrated to pay homage and salute to the courageous and brave Indian soldiers who have been sacrificing their lives for protecting the country. 

    Every year on this day, the ‘Army Day’ is celebrated to commemorate the day when General (later Field Marshal) K.M Carriappa took over the command of Army from General Sir F.R.R Bucher, the last British Commander-in-Chief in 1949 and became the first Commander-in-Chief of Indian Army post Independence.

    Federal Bank has entered into a strategic partnership with Hedge Equities Ltd for providing Portfolio Investment Scheme (PIS) services to NRIs. A formal agreement was executed in which Jose K Mathew (EVP & Head Retail Business, Federal Bank) and Alex Babu (MD, Hedge Equities Ltd) exchanged the MoU announcing the tie-up.

    Federal Bank is authorised by the RBI to issue permission letter to NRIs on behalf of the RBI to transact in secondary market.

    Indu Malhotra Becomes 1st Woman Lawyer Directly Appointed for SC Judgeship


    The Supreme Court collegium has recommended the name of senior advocate Indu Malhotra as the first woman lawyer to be directly appointed as a judge of the Supreme Court of India.

    She will be the seventh woman judge since independence to make it to the Supreme Court. At present, Justice R Banumathi is the lone woman judge in the apex court.

    • All about National Youth Day- 12 January

    The National Youth Day has been celebrated every year on 12 January. This is the day when Swami Vivekananda,one of the greatest social reformers, thinkers, and philosophers of India, was born. The Indian government had declared back in 1984 that Swamiji’s birthday would be celebrated as the National Youth Day.


    The main aim behind this is to make sure that the students across the country can be encouraged to learn about the life, the ideas and philosophy of Swami Vivekananda and apply them in their lives.

    Prime Minister Narendra Modi inaugurated the National Youth Festival in Greater Noida through Video conferencing. The five-day event will provide a platform to bring the youth of the country together and opportunity to showcase their talents in various activities. The Theme of the Festival is 'Sankalp Se Siddhi'. Culture Minister Dr Mahesh Sharma will be the guest of honour on the occasion.

    • Nation Celebrates Kisan Diwas- 23rd December

    Kisan Diwas (Farmer's Day) is observed every year on 23 December to celebrate the birth anniversary of the fifth prime minister of India Chaudhary Charan Singh. He was the PM of India for a very short tenure starting from 28th of July 1979 until 14th January 1980.  A kisan leader, Late Chaudhary Charan Singh belonged to a peasant family. This was the reason he could relate himself with the issues of the farmers and therefore, he did the best to support them.

    When he became the Prime Minister of India in July 1979 he made many changes to improve the lives of the farmers. This is also an interesting fact that as the Prime Minister of India, Chaudhary Charan Singh never visited the Lok Sabha. He also served as the Deputy Prime Minister during the reign of Morarji Desai. He introduced Budget 1979 which was designed to accomplish the needs of the farmers in all respects. It had several policies in favor of Indian farmers.

    The Zamindari Abolition Act was also introduced and enforced by him. He was an avid writer too and wrote down his thoughts on farmers and problems related to them along with the solutions. Chaudhary Charan Singh died on 29 May 1987. National Farmer’s Day is celebrated every year in all states and especially in those states which are actively engaged in farming and cultivation such as Uttar Pradesh, Punjab, Haryana, Madhya Pradesh and others.

    In 1917, Ramanujan was elected to be a member of the London Mathematical Society. In 1918 he also became a Fellow of the Royal Society, becoming the youngest person to achieve the feat. He passed away on April 6, 1920.


    • International Migrants Day- 18 December

    The International Migrants Day is organized across the world on 18th December. The theme for IMD 2017 is 'Safe Migration in a World on the Move.' On 4 December 2000, the General Assembly proclaimed 18 December as International Migrants Day.
    On that day, in 1990, the Assembly adopted the International Convention on the Protection of the Rights of All Migrant Workers and Members of Their Families.

    • Nation Celebrates Vijay Diwas- 16 December


    Vijay Diwas is celebrated across the Nation on 16th December. The day marks the glorious victory over Pakistan in 1971 during the Indo-Pakistani War of 1971, in alliance with Bangladesh Mukti Bahini. On 16th December in 1971,the chief of the Pakistani forces, General Amir Abdullah Khan Niazi, along with 93,000 troops, surrendered to the allied forces consists of Indian Army.

    The anniversary of Vijay Divas is observed across India by paying tributes to the martyrs who laid down their lives for the nation.

    Dr Sivan K Appointed New ISRO Chairman


    Noted rocket scientist Sivan K was appointed as the 9th chairman of Indian Space Research Organisation (ISRO). He has replaced A.S. Kiran Kumar.

    The appointment has been made for the tenure of three years. Sivan was the Director of Vikram Sarabhai Space Centre, Kerala. Sivan joined the ISRO in 1982 in Polar Satellite Launch Vehicle (PSLV) project.

    2. Implementation of CCEA decision on closure of Tungabhadra Steel Products Limited.

    3. Fixed term for Chairperson and Members of the National Trust- Cabinet approved the proposal to amend Section 4(1) and Section 5(1) of the National Trust for the Welfare of Person with Autism, Cerebral Plasy, Mental Retardation and Multiple Disabilities Act, 1999 to fix the term of the Chairperson and Members of the Board of National Trust for three years.

    SBI SO 2018 Exam Pattern

    Candidates are selected through an interview process for different posts filled through SBI SO 2017.     SBI SO 2018 Eligibility

    The eligibility criteria are different for different positions that are filled through SBI SO 2017 exam. A candidate must fulfill the eligibility criteria for different positions for which they have applied in order to qualify for further processes. Currently SBI has released vacancy for Deputy Manager (Internal Audit). Let's have a look at the eligibility criteria for the post
    For Deputy Manager (Internal Audit)
    1. CA degree from a Institute of Chartered Accountant of India. Preference will be given to CISA
    2. Age Limit– Min 21 years & Max 35 years
    3. Minimum 2 years experience in statutory/internal/ Concurrent Audit of Banks, in/with a Chartered Accountant firm engaged in statutory/internal/Concurrent Audit of Banks or in employment of a Bank. Experience Certificate issued by the firms for employees working in CA firms/Copy of the engagement letter from Banks for others, would be required. Specific Skills required: Working Knowledge in MS Office.

    SBI SO 2018 Salary

    For Deputy Manager (Internal Audit)
    The gross salary of Chief Manager selected through SBI SO 2018 Exam including HRA, PF, DA, CCA etc. amounts to 31705-1145/1-32850-1310/10-45950
    For Contractual positions
    The compensation package (CTC) for candidates selected for contractual positions is variable and is to be decided by the Bank. The pay scale won’t be a limiting factor for a suitable candidate.

    SBI SO Admit Card 2018

    State Bank of India will issue SBI SO Admit Card 2018 tentatively on 12th February 2018. The link to download Admit Card will be provided on this page. The Admit Card will be issued to candidates who have successfully submitted the Online Application for SBI SO 2018 Exam.

    SBI SO Result 2018


    State Bank of India will release SBI SO Result 2018 once the examination for the same has been conducted. SBI will release SBI SO Result separately for Written Exam and for the final merit list. The allotment will be done based on the scores of candidate in GD-PI Round.
