Answers with Explanation:-

1.     (A)
The given series is : 13 – 1, 23 – 2, 33 – 3, 43 – 4, 53 – 5, 63 – 6,
So the missing term = 73 – 7 = 343 – 7 = 336 .

2.    (D)
The pattern is + 3, + 5, + 3, + 5, …………
So the missing term is = 30 + 5 = 35 .

3.    (A)
The pattern is + 6, + 9, + 12, +15 ………..
So the missing term is = 21 + 12 = 33 .

4.    (C)
The pattern is +4, +8, +16, +32, +64
So the missing term is = 30 + 16 = 46 .

5.    (B)
5 x 11 = 55, 55 x 11 = 605, 605 x 11 = 6655, 6655 x 11 = 73205

6.    (A)
25 x 4 = 100, 100 x 4 = 400, 400 x 4 = 1600, 1600 x 4 = 6400.

7.    (A)
 125 = 53 , 216 = 63, 343 = 73, 512 = 83, 729 = 93, 1000 = 103.

8.    (B)
 13 , 33 , 53 , 73 , 93 , 113

9.    (D)
121 = 112, 144 = 122, 169 = 132, 196 = 142, 225 = 152.

Notes On Indian Polity: Emergency

  • The Emergency provisions are contained in Part XVIII of the Constitution, from Articles 352 to 360. These provisions enable the Central government to meet any abnormal situation effectively.(आपातकाल का प्रावधान संविधान के भाग XVIII में अनुच्छेद 352 से 360 के दिया गया हैं.
  • During an Emergency, the Central government becomes all powerful and the states go into the total control of the Centre. It converts the federal structure into a unitary one without a formal amendment of the Constitution. This kind of transformation of the political system from federal during normal times to unitary during Emergency is a unique feature of the Indian constitution.(आपातकाल के दौरान, केंद्र सरकार को सभी शक्तियां प्रदान की जाती है जबकि राज्य सरकार पूर्णत: केंद्र के नियंत्रण में आ जाते हैं.

The Constitution provides for three types of emergencies(संविधान तीन प्रकार की आपात स्थितियों को अभिव्यक्त करता है):
  • An emergency due to war, external aggression or armed rebellion (Article 352). This is popularly known as ‘National Emergency’. However, the Constitution employs the expression ‘proclamation of emergency’ to denote an emergency of this type.
  • An Emergency due to the failure of the constitutional machinery in the states (Article 356). This is popularly known as ‘President’s Rule’. It is also known by two other names ‘State Emergency’ or ‘constitutional Emergency’.
  • Financial Emergency due to a threat to the financial stability or credit of India (Article 360).(वित्तीय अस्थिरता या भारत के क्रेडिट के कारण वित्तीय आपातकाल(अनुच्छेद 360))

Parliamentry Approval and Duration(संसदीय स्वीकृति और अवधि)
  • The proclamation of Emergency must be approved by both the Houses of Parliament within one month from the date of its issue. Originally, the period allowed for approval by the Parliament was two months but was reduced by the 44th Amendment Act of 1978.(आपातकाल की घोषणा की तिथि के एक महीने के भीतर संसद के दोनों सदनों द्वारा आपातकाल की घोषणा को मंजूरी दी जानी चाहिए.
  • If approved by both the Houses of Parliament, the emergency continues for six months and can be extended to an indefinite period with an approval of the Parliament for every six months. This provision for periodical parliamentary approval was also added by the 44th Amendment Act of 1978.
