Rajya Sabha Secretariat Recruitment 2017 – Apply Online for 115 Secretariat Asst, Security Asst Grade-II & Other Posts: Parliament of India, Rajya Sabha Secretariat has announced a notification for the recruitment of 115 Parliamentary Interpreter (English/ Hindi), Assistant Legislative/ Committee/ Protocol/ Executive Officer, Secretariat Assistant(English) & various vacancies. Age Limit: Candidates age should be between 18 to 35 years for 1,2, 9 & 10, 18 to 30 years for remaning posts as on closing date of online application. Age relaxation is applicable by 05 years for SC & ST, 03 years for OBC, 10 years for PwD candidates.
Educational Qualification: Candidates should possess Masters degree from a recognised university in English with medium of Hindi Language upto degree level or Masters degree in Hindi with medium of English Language upto degree level for Post 1, Masters degree from a recognised university in any discipline with Odia up to degree level for Post 2, Bachelors degree in any discipline from a recognized university for Post 3, Bachelors degree in any discipline from a recognized university and possessing a minimum Shorthand speed of 80 w.p.m. in English for Post 4, Bachelors degree in any discipline from a recognized university for Post 5. Selection Process: Candidates will be selected based on Preliminary Examination, Written Examination, Skill Test and Interview.
Application Fee: Candidates should pay Rs. 300/- per post applied for plus Bank charges through online mode only i.e. Net Banking, Credit or
Debit Card. SCs, STs, Persons with Disability, Females and Ex-Servicemen are not required to pay any fee.

11 August 2017 Current Affairs: The Lok Sabha passed the State Banks (Repeal and Amendment) Bill, 2017. The bill seeks to repeal the two Acts namely State Bank of India.

It is to amend the State Bank of India (SBI) Act, 1955 to remove references to subsidiary banks and powers of State Bank of India (SBI) to act as an agent of the RBI.

The Union Cabinet approved the merger of five associate banks along with Bharatiya Mahila Bank with SBI. The five banks were State Bank of Bikaner.
