Update 1: Last Date to Apply Extended!

RRB has extended the last date to apply for both RRB ALP & Technicians and Group D 2018. Now you can apply till 31st March 2018. In the notice released by Indian Railways, it is stated that the last date to apply for both the recruitment drives has extended.

Update 2: Revised Online Application to start from 28th February 2018.

According to the latest RRB Notice, the revised online application with the modified eligibility shall be made available for submission of Application from 28th February 2018

Update 3: Examination Fee to be Refunded Later!

According to the Indian Railway Minister Piyush Goyal, the Examination Fee will be refunded to the candidates after they appear for the exam. He stated stated, “I want to make it clear that the hike in the fees is because we realised that many people fill the form and then do not turn up for the exams. The government spends a lot of money on the exams. So, those who appear will get their fee refunded. Those who have paid Rs 250 will be refunded the entire amount and those who have paid Rs 500 will be refunded Rs 400. So, in effect, there is no hike. We want only the serious candidates to appear in the exams.” Piyush Goyal has announced this in his latest tweet.

Update 5: Ministry of Railways has increased the Upper Age limit for ALP & Group D.

In the recent notice, RRB has increased the upper age limit for ALP & Technicians and Group D for all the categories. Read the below mentioned tables for the detailed age limit.

Centre Approves Rs 2900 Crore To Make Cities Safer For Women

Women and Child Development Ministry has approved projects worth over Rs 2,900 crore under the Nirbhaya fund for eight major cities to make them safer for women.

These cities are Delhi, Mumbai, Kolkata, Chennai, Bengaluru, Hyderabad, Ahmedabad and Lucknow. The decision was taken after a meeting of Empowered Committee, which is headed by Women and Child Development Secretary.

Navjot Kaur Wins Gold In Asian Wrestling Championship

Navjot Kaur has clinched the 1st gold medal for India in the Asian Wrestling championship in Bishkek, Kyrgyzstan. She defeated Imai Miyu of Japan in the final of women’s 65 kg freestyle. With 1 gold, 2 silver and 1 bronze medal, India was at the second spot in the medals tally.

Vinesh Phogat and Pinki of Indian Railways claimed silver medals while Sakshi Malik won a bronze in the 62-kilogram category. China was leading the table with 4 gold and 1 bronze medal while Japan was at the third place with 1 gold, 1 silver and 2 bronze medals.

National Science Day- 28th February

National Science Day (NSD) is celebrated every year on 28 February. The theme of NSD-2018 is “Science and Technology for a Sustainable Future”.

NSD is celebrated to commemorate the discovery of the ‘Raman Effect’, which led to Sir C.V. Raman winning the Noble Prize. The theme has been chosen for the purpose of raising public appreciation of the scientific issues involved.

Prime Minister Narendra Modi launched the Amma Two Wheeler Scheme (in Chennai) of the state government coinciding with the birth anniversary of former Chief Minister of Tamil Nadu, Jayalalithaa.

The scheme, with the objective of enhancing the livelihood of working women, aims to provide subsidised two-wheelers to women, transgenders and differently-abled persons. Nearly 23,000 beneficiaries have registered for the scheme, which provides subsidies ranging up to 50% of the cost of the vehicle.

China was elected as the Vice President of Financial Action Task Force (FATF), a global body mandated to combat terror financing and money laundering. China's election came after the FATF plenary meeting in Paris.

China's election to the FATF assumes significance as Pakistan is set to be put in the FATF 'grey list' in June 2018. The grey lists put countries under the scanner for not implementing the objectives of the task force.

Union Minister of Drinking Water and Sanitation, Uma Bharti launched the Swajal pilot project at Village Bhikampura in Rajasthan. Besides ensuring the availability of clean drinking water to every household round the year, the project would also generate employment.

Swajal is a community-owned drinking water programme for sustained drinking water supply. Under the scheme, 90% of the project cost will be taken care by the Government and the remaining 10% of the project cost will be contributed by the community.
