Mauritius Largest Source of FDI in India- RBI

Mauritius was the largest source of foreign investment in India (21.8 per cent share at market value), followed by the US and the UK, according to a census by the Reserve Bank of India.

Singapore and Japan were the next two sources of foreign direct investment (FDI), reported the Census on Foreign Liabilities and Assets of Indian Direct Investment Companies 2016-17, released by RBI.

• Bank of Baroda Partners with Invoicemart as a TReDS Partner

Digital invoice discounting marketplace - Invoicemart has tied up with state-run lender Bank of Baroda to discount invoices for MSMEs. Buyers and sellers registered in the marketplace will now be able to access funding from Bank of Baroda.

Invoicemart is a joint venture between Axis Bank Ltd and junction services ltd. Bank of Baroda had recently announced that it was stepping up its focus on supply chain financing. TReDS is an online mechanism that helps MSMEs unlock working capital without the hassle of applying for loans.

• PM Modi Inaugurates Project Commencement of Rajasthan's first Oil Refinery in Barmer

Prime Minister Narendra Modi has inaugurated the project commencement of the Rajasthan Refinery at Pachpadra in Barmer district. This is the first oil refinery in the state. The 43,000 crore rupee project is a joint venture between HPCL and the Rajasthan government. 

The refinery is expected to be operational in 4 years and the state will have an additional income of 34,000 crore rupees from it. The project is expected to generate thousands of direct and indirect jobs.

प्रधान मंत्री नरेंद्र मोदी ने बाड़मेर जिले के पछपाड़रा में राजस्थान रिफाइनरी की परियोजना की शुरूआत की है. यह राज्य में पहली तेल रिफाइनरी है. 43,000 करोड़ रुपये की यह परियोजना एचपीसीएल और राजस्थान सरकार के बीच एक संयुक्त उद्यम है.

रिफाइनरी की 4 वर्षों में संचालित होने की उम्मीद है तथा राज्य को इससे 34,000 करोड़ रुपये की अतिरिक्त आय प्राप्त होगी. इस परियोजना से हजारों प्रत्यक्ष और अप्रत्यक्ष नौकरियां उत्पन्न होने की संभावना है.
